The Rock Ripper trenching chain consists of numerous identical sections, each having one alloy link, one or two journal pins, and two retaining pins. Bit holding blocks are welded directly onto each link, avoiding the timely replacement of nuts and bolts required on competitor chains. The result is better strength, greater durability, less maintenance, and a lower cost per length of trench formed.
