Another industry-first accolade earned by this song is its debut on the MTV. On 24 November 2011, this song became the first Tamil film song to be premiered on a national music channel, MTV India. TechZone, one of the leading content provider across all mobile platform for telecom operators says that the song has received record number of mobile downloads across India in a very short span of time. The Kolaveri effect is so contagious that even celebrities are tweeting about it. Last week, Big B tweeted, “Just heard #Kolaveri after much talk on it ... it's so original and catchy...congrats Dhanush and Aishwarya. Music has no language and regional boundaries.
