- place a piece of charcoal , chalk or several mothballs in your toolsbox to attract any moisture. - Wax tools with an automobile paste wax. A light coat will ward off corrosion for quite some time. - Or, store small tools in a basket of sand. Pull an old nylon stocking over your hand and rub lightly over the wood. you will be able to locate the slightest rough spot. |

- Just a speck of nail polish remover will spice cassette tapes. - For accuracy in drilling metal, Use a small drill first. When drilling hard metal, add a drop or two of turpentine to the drill point instead of oil for lubrication. - A small quantity of kerosene will help a hand saw through a tight cut. - To hide nail holes, rub toothpaste into the hole and smooth with a damp sponge. - Cut a paper pattern of each picture or mirror that you plan to hang and pin on the wall. After you have found the correct position for the hangers, perforate the paper with a sharp pencil to mark the wall. - Before you drive nails into the wall, marl the spot with an X of cellophane tape. This trick will keep the plaster from cracking when you start hammering. - When the landlady says, " No nails in teh wall." hang pictures with sewing machine needles. They hold upto 15 kilograms. - A wet fingerprint shows the exact spot for hanger. The print dries without a mark. - Cooking oil or baby oil is a better way to remove paint because it will not burn the skin. - For easy removal, rub vaseline on exposed skin. - Before painting, give fingernails a good coating of bar soap for the fatest wash-up ever. Preventing white paint from yellowing: - Stir a drop of black paint into any good white paint. |
