Comfortable Aircraft
| Seat and Bed Design: Trying to sleep in upright position on
a many hours journey in airplane with different time zone is very tedious
for travelers. To make such trips a little comfortable, the Air New Zealand
has redesigned a new seating arrangement even in economy class wherein
you can lie down to take rest.
It is designed with three seats called ‘skycouch’ to create a lie-flat,
flexible space and a place for kids to play. The new seating is scheduled
to be implemented in Boeing 777-300 ER with 50 in Premium Economy, 44
in Business Premier and 246 in Economy, which includes twenty-two sets
of Skycouch seats that are located in the first eleven window rows in
the Economy Class cabin.
The airfare details will be announced when the new seating options go
on sale from Air New Zealand in late April. But it is said that for two
adults traveling, purchasing the Skycouch will be based on buying two
seats at standard prices with the third seat at approximately half price.
This means that solo travelers will be faced with a hefty ticket price.
