Catching Fish On Frozen Water

The activity of catching fish in frozen water is called Ice Fishing. Hwacheon, South Korea is the home to ice fishing. The Ice fishing festival takes place every year during the entire month of January where every competitor try to catch maximum sancheoneo (wild trout) fish. Nearly 1, 000, 000 visitors come annually for this festival. Ice anglers may sit on the stool in the open on a frozen lake, or in a heated cabin on the ice, some with bunks and amenities and catch the fish using lines or fish hooks and spears.
